BOOMMAN

POWERFUL. VISIONARY. ICONIC.

Lavour “Boomman” Sanders has always had a lifelong passion for music. He has contributed well over two decades of musical excellence as an artist, manager and label executive, earning a number of accolades along the way.

The Atlanta native built his empire on his astute business acumen as well as his innate ability to identify and nurture talent. Boomman, relevant in both entertainment and economics, has been a pivotal force in the creative development and growth of southern hip-hop and his impact on pop culture as an independent entity is undeniable. Boomman’s foray into the industry was as a founding member of a gospel rap trio in high school.

Through this association, he met and took an interest in a talented producer by the name of K-Rab. The ambitious creatives purchased studio equipment and went straight to work. During this same time Boomman was enrolled at Morris Brown College however when the HBCU lost its accreditation, he decided to take a risk and trust his gut instinct. He enlisted into the military as a means to fund a record label with his clique. While stationed in Iraq, Boomman learned that K-Rab produced “Laffy Taffy” for D4L, which not only hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it also broke the 2007 Guinness World Record for the most downloaded song in the history of music. Imbued with confidence and excitement, Boomman was welcomed home from the war by a solid financial return on his investment. His goal was to take his earnings and duplicate the success with his team but he was forced to realign and reassess his future.

Those early losses and lessons proved to be invaluable. Instead of following the wave, Boomman created multiple ones that were interconnected. He became a force to be reckoned with as a club promoter in Valdosta, GA while simultaneously signing hit maker K.E. on the Track, who is responsible for ushering in the futuristic sound through crafting club anthems for Yung L.A., J. Money, Travis Porter and F.L.Y. Boomman was also “boomin’” out of his trunk selling clothes, shoes and jewelry, earning his stage moniker. The all-around hustler was also making a name for himself as a rapper, catching the attention of an A&R at a major record company. In 2011, Boomman made his first million. The following year, still in artist mode, he collaborated with Future, 2 Chainz, Gucci, Waka Flocka, Yo Gotti, K Camp, Rocko and more. His exponentially growing fanbase demanded a national and international tour however his movement was short-lived due to the loss of his mother. Boomman decided to stay behind the scenes and put his money as well as his muscle behind groups such as A1 Supergroup and Charlie Boy Gang.

Being instrumental in supporting talent and their art form has become the foundation on which Boomman established his professional reputation. His brilliant foresight in discovering and signing artists and producers has played a significant role in nearly 100 million records being sold and streamed. Some of those chart-topping hits include “Swag Surfin’,” “No Hands,” “All the Way Turned Up,” “Molly,” “Hittin’” and more.

Boomman has also curated an impressive roster of artists, from Roscoe Dash to Foogiano, and founded some of the most important indie record companies in the game with MMI and Authentic Empire. The self-proclaimed “Independent King” continues to be an innovative agent for change in the industry. Through his various verticals including his distribution company Muzik Junky and the management arm of Authentic Empire, Boomman has generated millions of dollars of income for himself and others serving approximately 3000 artists worldwide and distributing over 7000 songs independently through his catalog.

Additionally, under the umbrella of his service-based AE company, Boomman created platforms such as the Indie King Showcase as well as a music festival and conference for talented artists to be seen, heard and get educated on the business. The definition of self-made, his remarkable track record of knowing how to strategically break, finance and promote entertainers is legendary. A natural born leader who consistently pushes boundaries, Boomman continues to set the standard of greatness in multiple categories as an independent playmaker and powerhouse.
